Instagram Parody

Are you taking the mick out of my portfolio? I'm not sure that counts as a music video but if it does, you could add it to my blog quest for favourite music videos - lots of people are reading but no-one dares post www.jeangill.blogspot.com

yay! Let there be zoom!

Zoom is back. smile I don't think it zooms in as far as it used to, but it will do. Faster too.

I didn't think it zoomed in as far either, but as you say it's better than nothing. It's still clunky compared to the zoom Sean has on his Accord site.

It is a little clunky compare to the zoom you get on open source e-commerce website but...

Woke up to two nice Maasai women, one a L E+ sale and one a new Agency.

Happy the zoom is back and happy that they seem to work on the BM.  Funny that it suddenly got urgent after all the time we have been complaining and they have insisted nothing is wrong. Now just hope it works so we get a nice ending to this year. I am very pleased with the ay my portfolio looks with the new BM seach, a mixture of new and old and different subjects that I think represents my "art" very well.

Welcome back Anthony. Been somewhat absent myself. House construction taking longer than I had hoped as I haven't been able to take as much vacation time to build as I had hoped. (I'm just to darn dedicated...) Fortunately, we have a place to live so there isn't quite as much pressure as if we had a firm deadline.

And then to add to my stressload, got into a minor accident last week (not my fault) and my car was totalled so now in my "spare time", I'm car shopping.

RE: BM - looks more normal than I have seen in ages. My top image (which had basically disappered into a black hole somewhere) is now back on page one, and my more recent top image has been bumped slightly to page two. The reality is is that it makes no difference where they are if there are no buyers. Can't believe the difference in DL's versus any other time in the past few years. Unless someone else (ie other contributors) are getting all the DL's, iStock must really be feeling this. If nothing else, that should be motivation for them to turn the ship around.

If you are OK, Dan, (and I hope so!) and no-one else was hurt, the rest is just scrap metal and what we pay insurance for.

Can't see any change in the first two rows of my BM and this isn't as good as last week (so far) but it is different images selling so there obviously has been a change.

Yesterday DLs were well above the average for this year, but let's wait for a few more days to see if that was the result of BM and zoom. $/DL was still very low, but I can't expect to get everything at once.

Yesterday I had one $28 DL which made my day good, but apart from that only one other DL. Take away the whopper and it was another crap day.

Mylast three DL:s have been from 2009 so I was a little curious how my old images are doing with the new BM seach.  Searched for two of my old flames from 2007 and 2008, none has sold since March this year. To my utter surprice one was #51 among 23725 seagulls and the other #97 among 5682 skaters.  Now I'll just see if they are allowed to stay there and if they start selling again. smile

On the other hand my only Maasai flame (from 2009) is #98 among 876 maasai and there the new files are doing better.

Yesterday 3 Dls, two of them of old and below average quality. Today 1DL, also old and below average quality. I guess someone if getting DLs but for me the change this place has had in the last month or so is dramatic. Currently doing like 10% of what I have been making for months. I have made more in two days some months ago than in the whole december up to today. It is completely unbelievable. Thanks god I don´t need this money although I did get used to having it as a kind of insurance in case things went wrong with my current work. Now I don´t have this lifevest but it is not that important. I won´t overreact now, but if this continues in the next couple of months I will probably close my port here. I am not to make 10$ a day with almost 2k files that have proved over time that they sell quite well. And it is not that long ago that I did stop uploading due to lack of time to entirely blame this fact for the loss of DLs, probably in 2012 I have uploaded more and better pics than ever. This change has happened in the last month and it has been a radical change. And if the clients are elsewhere, I´ll find them. This is a new years resolution

Think I'll pimp too to see if that helps remove the pants  I've been trying some new stuff lately and trying to have fun again with the camera.

First is the puppy with amazing eyes.  Second, a glamor/fashion/model type facial shot.

Love the mad puppy, Hope I've been doing something different too; I did an author shoot this morning and it went well - phew! Got paid for it too so that makes up for a terrible week (so far). Santa's bringing a Manfrotto lightweight carbon monopod so I earned that today!

Looking for a book on Spanish smoke signals, just in case...

Only 1 more sale on the legendary lizard eye and it becomes a flame. Surely that means once that happens all of Istocks problems will be solved by the immense power of the eye?
