When uploading a track, there is no mention of the original track's name or a way to play it on the pages past the upload page. I just uploaded 4 tracks and went back, and have no idea which is which! Please put a button to play the sample, or the name of the uploaded track.

The waveform graphic doesn't help, because it doesn't look at all like what I see in my sound program.

To include a link of the audio would significantly increase download bandwidth on our servers and is not possible at this time. However we do understand your request and are looking to continually upgrade and evolve the iStockaudio feature-set.

Just the name of the file I uploaded would be fine. Otherwise, it's one file at a time, so they don't get confused.

It's the same problem on the video side, except there, you get a thumbnail eventually to look at.

Btw, what does the waveform represent? Most of my tracks are silent at the beginning, but these all look all crazy right from the start.

Looks like a 'generic' waveform, not indicative of anything, except to show its a sound file.

Let's see:

istockphoto_6135916_little_girl_giggling

Nope. All different. See, the last one is very quiet, with 7 or 8 "blips" of sound. So you should see spikes, but it isn't like that at all.

The waveform is not generic, however because it is so compressed silence at the beginning of a file might only be shown for a very small portion of the actual waveform. Audio with a very even dynamic level will look very similar, in essence many of the audio files submitted will have a similar looking waveform, but they are created from the specific audio file.

Also, we are working on putting the filename on the various upload stages.

sometimes you get a thumbnail, sometimes you don't and you have to just cancel the upload and start over

No, I mean you get the little box that says the thumbnail will be generated once you're done submitting. Except it's hard to submit when you don't remember what it is.
