I don't get the whole twitter thing. It just looks like a miniblog of unimportant stuff to me.

I get a lot of up-to-date news from Twitter.  It's a good real-time way to keep up with other people and events.

Ok, well obviously there is unimportant stuff on there, but I also use it for CNN news, Photoshop, Nikon, etc. Plus, you choose who you follow so you only see updates from the people you want to see.
