On the "Daily RCs" statistics page there are two columns "RSs" and "iS RCs".
Which is used by Istock?

Hopefully neither - hopefully they have some accurate data which they actually use rather than the almost useless nonsense which they actually show us. Seriously.

The only RC data that iStock give us are the RC totals in the Trending column on the Stats tab of your profile page. This updates approximately daily and is approximately a day or two out of date, but with some sales affecting the total later than others. Some days it doesn't update at all. Some days it reports total nonsense, e.g. when totals were reported as zero earlier in November.
This junk is the best (and only) official RC data that we can see, and that is what the iS RCs column is based on.

The column "RCs" is roughly but not exactly what the Livestock "Recent DLs" page show if you add the RCs up manually.

That's pretty much what that column is, yes. LiveStock sees you sold file A at medium size, and that file currently costs 10 credits so it adds 10 to the total. You sold file B at small size, and that file currently costs 20 credits so it adds 20 to the total. iStock don't ever tell us how many credits a file actually sold for, so LiveStock's assumptions can be incorrect.

I hope that makes things clearer.

Chrystal clear. Thanks for the clearification.

And by chance, yesterday all tree RC-sources showed the same. First time ever.

Glad you made sense of it despite my ranting...I must've had too little coffee yesterday. Or too much.

I've just pushed LiveStock v2.11.8 to Google Play.

Mostly just small changes.

I've completely reworked and simplified the iStock account screen. Not having so many buttons should be less confusing for new users.

Notifications are now automatically cleared when you open LiveStock. That's how most apps work. If you prefer the current behaviour, you can re-enable it via:
Menu->LiveStock Prefs->Display->Auto-Clear Notifications
and untick the tick box.

There are also some minor cosmetic tweaks to the home screen widgets and some minor bug fixes.

Enjoy!

Edit to add: just noticed that it's just passed 4 years of fixing stupid LiveStock bugs. You'd've hoped I'd've got the hang of this by now

Well, in fairness to you, Martin, it's not like you are connected to a bugless host. Even those little fish stuck on the sides of whales have to wiggle pretty hard to keep up.

Just an observation, since people have asked me about making a multi-user version of LiveStock in the past...
if you have a tablet which is running at least Android version Jellybean 4.2 you can create multiple user profiles on your tablet from the system settings app. Each user can install their own apps which are completely separate...so two people can have their own installations of LiveStock with completely separate databases.

Again, that's currently tablets only. And you must be using at least Android 4.2.
I'm sure that'll be useful to some of you.

Is it not displaying any recent downloads? Or is it displaying some older ones but has stopped updating? Or is it displaying old ones and updating with new ones, but just missing some sometimes?

If it's the latter, it's not uncommon. People have reported issues with iStock not updating the list on the my_uploads page immediately, and it's pretty common for network problems and iStock server issues to prevent updates sometimes.
In these cases it's easy to force LiveStock to try again to fetch what it missed. From the menu (the three dots in the bottom-right of the main screen) choose Force Refresh of DLs, and select an appropriate period to catch the sales that have been missed.

Let us know how you get on.

OK. When you tried the Force Refresh I suggested, did any errors appear? Or did you get any temporary notifications that it was inspecting images? Or did nothing seem to happen?

I've just pushed LiveStock v2.11.11 to Google Play. Just small stuff in this release.

The Year Graph and Month Graph stats pages used to label the blue and green lines in the manner of -1 month or -2 years. It now just says specifically which months or years it's showing you.

screen-2_11_11-1

screen-2_11_11-2

And as a bit of an experiment, LiveStock will now attempt to identify which sales are cash sales and which are regular credits sales. Those that are cash sales will be indicated with a pale green background in the Recent Sales list. At some point in the future I dare say I'll add some cash versus credits statistics pages.

screen-2_11_11-3

Please note that this will only attempt to identify which sales are cash or credits for future sales, it won't make any attempt to classify your historical sales.

As always, this might take some hours to work its way through Google Play and on to your device.

Enjoy!

I meant to say...whilst I'd always like to hear about any problems, I'd particularly like to hear if this seems to do the right thing with Agency Photos, Vetta Illustrations, and Vetta Videos. I have some special-case code for those, but I'm unable to test it directly as I don't have any of those file types. Thanks!

Ah great - sounds like it was probably just a temporary network or server problem then. Good news! Thanks for letting us know.

How do I get an EL to show up under the recent DLS as an EL?  It shows as an EL under ELs but under DLs, it appears as the last DL, not the EL.

I tried the force refresh but that didn't do it either.

This app is fantastic, thank you so much.

That sounds interesting!
Let me check I've got the symptoms straight, though.

You definitely had a EL sale?
And it shows up when you set the Recent Sales List to show just Recent ELs, but not when you set it to show Recent DLs?
In the Recent ELs list, is the Last EL date today?

But the same file does show up with a regular sale in the Recent DLs list? Is the Last DL date today? Does it show time/price/size/RCs details for a regular sale below the main details?

If you show the full details for that image (tap on the row in the Recent DLs list) and then show the sales list for that image (tap on the Sales Details icon in the bottom left, or just tap on the thumbnail) does it show both that regular sale and the EL? Or just the regular sale?

Yes, had an EL today,  In the recent ELs list, is shows as an EL 125 RC at $87.45 on 12-18-12. No time shown

On the downloads page it shows as a Medium for 30 RC  shows up as 08:01 but is out of sequence with other sales.  I had one earlier so the image moved up when the EL was sold but did not show up as an EL.

From the file download page, in the bar chart, it shows two sales for today, one regular sale which is probably the medium and the EL is shown as a gold bar.  So, there definitely were two sales today.  One regular, one EL.

Hope this helps and makes sense.

Yes it does, thanks. But if I'm right I don't have a good answer for you.

Am I right in thinking that today's EL doesn't appear on your EL list on this page:
http://www.istockphoto.com/license_earnings.php

If it's not on there, I believe it was a cash sale and there's still a bug (at the iStock end) with the reporting of cash-sale ELs. (Kelvin has it on his list).
LiveStock needs that page to get the ELs all lined up correctly, unfortunately.
