Gosh! That sounds pretty crazy.
First thing I'd do (which you've probably done) is tell it not to scrape GI sales:
Menu->LiveStock Prefs->Updates->Getty Image Sales
then kill and restart LS.

As for where the GI sales details come from, my understanding was that the links to the pages disappear but the pages still exist. Would you mind checking that? Can you see the page:

which should have your entire portfolio I think.
And can you see:

(I just picked the first image in your portfolio - it doesn't matter whether it was ever in Getty or not, the page should still exist)

The first thing I'd check is that the option to not download images hasn't been set. From the main LiveStock screen:
Menu->LiveStock Prefs->Display->Downloads Images
If that is ticked, we'll have to look for the problem elsewhere.

Hmmm, same issue as gpointstudio.  I first tried clearing all the data but it still didn't load the details.  I then tried deleting the app and re-installing but still have the same issue.  Too bad, this is my most-used phone app.

Still failing after a clean install limits the possible problems quite a lot.

Have either of you installed apps to save battery life or reduce network usage?

No, nothing new installed during the time it stopped working.  


For what it's worth, I've had periodic issues similar to this where the detailed downloads didn't load with a normal refresh, but usually a "force refresh of DLs" resolved it.  It seems like this happened more frequently during the last few months or so.  But this time even that didn't fix the problem - and I tried it at least half a dozen times before zapping the data and re-installing.


If there's anything I can provide you to help troubleshoot, just let me know.

Ok - I believe I know what's causing the problem with scraping recent sales for those of you using Android 2.2.

On March 1st iStock changed the security certificate for the secure pages on the website - such as the pages where you log in. That's a normal and good thing to do! Unfortunately, older versions of Android don't recognise the security authority they now use.

So LiveStock can still get some information from iStock through the API (current balance, recent inspections, some limited stats), but not the information that comes from scraping the web pages (sales details, lots of stats, etc, etc).

I'm pretty confident that's the problem because that would cause exactly the effects you're seeing, and the dates match up.

I'm not sure of a solution yet, but at least I know what problem I'm trying to solve now. Hang in there!

I've just pushed LiveStock v2.11.28 to Google Play.
This should fix the problem of Recent Sales not updating on older (Android v2.2) phones.

As always, it may take a few hours for Google Play to realise there's a new version out there.

Sorry for taking so long getting back to you. No those pages can't be accessed. The first one goes to a page that says "There is no data", the second one just goes to the normal DLs page with no Getty tab. I think the easiest course of action is to prevent Getty scraping for non-exclusive contributors. In fcat I have been told the only way to get Getty data if you are non-exclusive is to request it from Contributor Support and apparently the only way they can get it is to look at the Getty page (which they can see) for each of your images manually. Obviously they'r enot keen to do that if you have a very large portfolio.

Ugh! That's a surprise, and very disappointing.

I have the same problem with GI sales update, I'm non-exclusive contributor right now the same as dcdp.

I downloaded LiveStock on my phone last week. It's a great app. Initially, it showed all key data. However, now the a/c balance column shows only dashes (----), even on refresh. What might be the problem? Any fix? Thanks.

Most likely you just accidentally unset a setting. Go to:
Menu->LiveStock Prefs->Display->Show Balance
and check that it is ticked.

If it's not that, I'll have to think of something else
