I've just pushed LiveStock v2.11.29 to Google Play.
This release has a new stats graph showing the number of unique files that have sold per month compared to the total number of sales per month.

It also will only scrape Getty sales information if you're an exclusive photo, vector or video contributor - other contributors don't have Getty sales information!

As always, it may take a few hours for Google Play to realise there's a new version out there.

Hi Martin, What does "Sold via Partner Portal" mean in the Recent Getty Sales results on Livestock2? Question being what is different about those than when the app says "Sold via Getty Images"? Thanks.

I thought there was a more official comment somewhere, but all I can find is this video thread from a couple of years ago.

From LiveStock's point of view, it just reports whatever it says in the Site column on that file's GI Sales page:
http://www.istockphoto.com/file_downloads.php?PageSetting=GISales&id=XXXXXXXX

Sorry for the feeble answer, but that's all I know to tell you.

Thanks Martin. No surprise there was never any official answer. And now - instead of "only $12" as was being complained about in that thread, the commission is only six cents. Figures.

Again, thanks anyway.

Why it takes years to know a little information like recent downloads? Also most of the time simply doesn't fetch and the last downloads are not updated.

The iStock servers are sometimes horribly slow just now. I find it often takes 30 seconds to open the sales details page for a single file. Your phone is probably timing out frequently whilst trying to fetch sales data. Certainly my phone is.

Hopefully things will pick up and the servers will give contributor data faster, but if it's a choice between being fast for buyers and being fast for contributors...I hope it stays horrible for us

============IMPORTANT============
As I'm sure you're aware, over the next few days iStock are going to be changing things with the file collections.
This will affect LiveStock, but we won't know exactly the implications until all the changes are in place. Expect the app to behave weirdly or, indeed, to misbehave. Hang in there . Once all the changes are in place I'll take a look at what I need to fix.

I've just pushed LiveStock v2.11.31 to Google Play.

This has a bunch of small changes to handle the recent changes to the iStock file collections.
In addition there are some cosmetic tweaks for larger-screened phones, and some minor networking tweaks to try to better cope when iStock's servers are a bit flakey (not that that ever happens).

There's also one new feature. You can now see the most recent 10 sales for files in your Recent Sales list by tapping on the thumbnail.
screen-2_11_31-1

Tapping on the thumbnail replaces the file stats with a mini sales list.
screen-2_11_31-2

If you scroll that row off the screen it will revert to showing the file stats.

Enjoy!

Livestock is reporting the credits used for sales incorrectly because iStock has changed the display of prices for Main collection images

Can you give a specific example, Dave? Price is one of the few things LiveStock gets through the API, so the way it's displayed on the website should never make a difference. But that's not to say it's not getting the wrong data from the API in some circumstances.

(I had a Main collection sale the other day and it accurately reported the actual number of credits, but I've not had a Main collection sale in the last two days so maybe something's happened since then).

Don't bother
I did a fresh fetch on an empty database to see what happens with my Main sale from a couple of days ago. As you say, it's reporting the wrong number of credits. Looks like an API bug. I'll raise it with iStock.

Don't hold your breath for it being fixed. But maybe they'll surprise us.

Thanks for reporting it!

Yes - it looks like the sale old price/new price change happened on the 10th sometime. Thanks for the info. Any Main collection sales that LiveStock saw before the change should be shown correctly. Since then they're reported incorrectly.

Unrelated, there seems to be a bug where Main collection sales aren't correctly indicated on the Recent Sales List - they should have a grey background to the title rather than a white background. It's on the list of things to look into.

Not sure this quite reflects what I've seen with my Main collection sales. All these are files which had never sold before and were moved to "M" from what is now "S" in the reshuffle.

My first Main collection sale was on June 21 (An Editorial file - #17054271). That one sold as a Medium and was (is still) reported by LiveStock2 at 7 RC's instead of the correct 3 RC's. So I assume that one was incorrect.

Since then, I've had five additional "M" collection sales. Three sold before July 10th - all apparently with the correct number of RCs reported by LiveStock2. And two have solde since July 10th - one with incorrect RC's and the other with correctly reported RC's.

The incorrectly reported RC amount on one of those last two is (also) an Editorial file (#16902460). While all of the apparently correctly reported RC amounts are on commercial image sales.

Potential conclusion? Maybe there is/was only a problem reporting Main collection Editorial image RCs? Hope some of that helps - let me know if you want/need additional info.

I've just pushed v2.11.32 of LiveStock to Google Play.

This release fixes the bug where Main collection files were not always reported as such.
It also (in a nasty hacky way) works around the bug where iStock reports the incorrect credits price of Main collection photos.

There are also some minor cosmetic tweaks.

Enjoy!

When I check my account on Livestock(very good app, by the way), it shows I have five Sig+ files but the 'My Uploads' page on Istock still shows them as being in the main collection. The same files were my P+ files. Will they eventually show up as Sig+ when when everything shakes out with the collection teoranization?

Are you updated to the latest version of Livestock? v2.11.32 fixed a problem with Main collection files not being correctly recognised.

It's entirely possible there's another bug at either the LiveStock or iStock end of things, but I want to be sure you're up-to-date first.

Thanks.

Ok - thanks. I'll see what ideas I can come up with. I may come back to you with more questions as it might be something specific to non-exclusive file (which, of course, I don't have any of).

I didn't answer the last part of your post:

Will they eventually show up as Sig+ when when everything shakes out with the collection teoranization?

I'm afraid I have absolutely no idea, sorry. Insiders don't give me any information about the collection changes - I learn about it through the forums the same as everyone else.
I'd be very happy for insiders to change that and slip me some secrets

I've just pushed v2.11.34 of LiveStock to Google Play.

This fixes a possible problem with Partner Program and Getty Images sales where the scraper could go a bit mad and run around in circles not doing much.

There are also some cosmetic tweaks the clean up the user interface here and there.

As ever, it can take a few hours for the release to make its way through the Play store.
