1. Will we be able to offer existing images to the premiere collection or it has to be a new content?

2. Once you reach 200 000 images in this collection will you lock so that no new files will make it there or it will be constantly growing?

weeheee - thanks istock

I do have a question on the new "1-2-3-4-5-6-7 bin": Will our less-attractive files automatically get placed into this bin upon approval, or does it follow the same rule as the old dollar bin, where files will be placed into this bin after a year of no sale?

Posted By kkthompson:
The 'Dollar Bin' is getting remodeled (and probably a new name). First of all, there are going to be a lot more files in there: we're envisioning 200,000 to start (up from about 5,000 right now). The images in this new value collection will now be priced by size, like everything else, but at much lower rates: 1 credit for an extra-small and topping out at 7 credits for a XXXL. These files will no longer be automatically deactivated after 30 days. The new Dollar Bin should be ready in early spring.

i think 200 000 is the minimum number IS wants to kick off the collection and certainley there is no uppper limit.

We will be taking a more active role in deciding what goes in there.

"Generated" in what sense, since it is already large enough? Or "generated" in that the system will know it belongs in that size category.

They generate smaller images for other sizes like S, M, etc.

Uh, yeah, I know that.

Hey sj-puts-a-smile-on-my-face-locke. The largest file will be renamed XXXL and the XXL file will then be generated for all files that fall into the appropriate new category. Cool?

I think the Exclusive collection is for exclusive members - or did I misinterpret that?  And if that is the case then 'lypse images by exclusive members might get in.

For clarification, you mean current XXL images with 20,720,000+ pixels would move to XXXL category and populate rest of the sizes accordingly. Images with less than 20,720,000 pixels(eg. 19mp which still falls in XXL currently) will stay in XXL. Right?
