Nice! And interesting...I'm curious as to how the exclusive content pricing will play out.  Will the higher prices reduce exclusive sales and send buyers looking for cheaper images? Very interesting.

Thanks you guys for all your hard work.  Much appreciation felt and deserved!

Great, that's a move that just a leader company could dare to do. But well, we already knew that istock is the leader!

would it be safe to assume that Lypse photos would make it into the exclusive collection? if yes will it apply retroactively?

I think the Exclusive collection is for exclusive members - or did I misinterpret that? And if that is the case then 'lypse images by exclusive members might get in.

Ooooh, I didn't realize the premiere collection was exclusive only. Awesome perk!

Hmmm ... but it does mean that Yuri may be competing against you from a lower price point. It could work to the benefit of both exclusives and non exclusives, though, with the exclusives picking up slightly fewer sales at a higher price while some buyers migrate downstream and boost sales for independents. These changes sound good to me.

Hopefully the buyers don't gripe too much about the pricing changes.  The premium pricing for exclusives sounds like a good idea.

What will be the pricing for vectors in the dollar bin? Also vector pricing in the premiere collection.

Dear Lord,

Thank you for raising up Bruce and the work you have done in his life to be able to create iStock. Lord you know how I've enjoyed and depend on our earnings partly from this site as do the many 1000's of us here.

Bless Bruce and the staff as they implement these plans for 2009 and may the Best Match be the best, not only here but across the web. Guide them Lord and enable them to create a wonder-filled collection. Bless the community too Lord.

In Jesus Name I Pray, Amen.

Yes, that I've since realized. Not just him, but any "business owned contributors". I'm thinking the premiere collection has to be stuff not offered at all by independents, otherwise, buyers will just go for the lower price point. And there certainly is a lot of coverage already in the collection...

Interesting news.  Not sure at this point how it will affect non-exclusives.  At present dollar bin is only voluntarily accessible for independents.  Will non-exclusives be given the ability to put images in the Value Collection now?

And by "more active role" in choosing what goes in the Value Collection,  does that mean a contributor can refuse to have an image "value priced"?   Or would deactivation be the only way to avoid having an image relocated?

Further info on how all this will be implemented would be most welcome.  The devil is always in the details

It all sounds like fun, but I have reservations about splitting the collection. It depends how it's done, but I hope that clients will be able to see all results easily, just as they can now whether they have PAYG credits or a subscription. I'd hate for all the content, be it dollar bin or premiere collection, not to be visible in one simple search.
