Installed Alpha 4 - DeepMeta is telling me I need X11, I'm definitely running 10.5.6 though. I'll install it and see what happens.

^^^ Ah, that's interesting. Leopard installs it by default, so it's strange that DeepMeta cannot find it on your system.

After closing the Popup box with the X11 error, did it properly open the page for OSX Tiger support, with X11 instructions?

In any case, I suggest you install X11 from the installation disk, and not from the download that I provided (which is for Tiger only).

I'll use all feedback to update that page.
Thanks.

I'm now installing X11 from my Leopard disc - I'm wondering if I did a custom install when I first installed Leopard to save disc space.

Yes, the popup warning took me to here: http://www.deepmeta.com/Support/Tiger/

Great! Your "case" was a mystery to me

It seems the most likely case that you originally did a custom install. I used to be like that too ... wanting control over everything. Not so much anymore ... comes with the age I guess

Thanks for testing and reporting. Another piece of the Mac puzzle solved...

Thanks for your work on this Franky smile
I am having trouble getting started...

I downloaded the mono framework 2.4 and then DeepMeta but I can't open it to finish the download.
I'm receiving the following error message after install:
DeepMeta requires the following framework: "X11" do you want to open the relevant web page for download?

Are you running Tiger or Leopard?

If Tiger, download and install X11 from here: X11 Installer package

If Leopard, you need to install X11 from the Leopard installer DVD.

With Alpha 4 the program start correct with Tiger! At least on my Tiger... It doesn't "hang" anymore on the license screen and acts the same as on my Leopard, hurray!

Ah, too bad. Sorry about the whole PowerPC thing. All my own code is compatible with PPC, only the library I use for the local database apparently doesn't support PPC. I contacted the makers of that library and they didn't seem to care much. They seem to assume that everyone is running Snow Leopard beta on a dual Intel Xeon Mac

In fact, it's the only library that I pay a subscription for, and I was going to replace them anyway.

All I'm saying is that there is hope for PPC users, but that will have to wait until I get the final Mac version out for Intel.

Thanks for your reports.

Thanks for letting me know. I found the bug thanks to your and DOConnell's reports

Another quick question: on Tiger, when you open the Preferences window, do you see the 2 icons (a human profile and a globe) at the top toolbar, labeled "Preferences" and "Connection"?

These are standard icons present in Leopard, but I wasn't sure about Tiger.

Don't know how far you are with bug reporting, so I'll just go right ahead. Worked ok importing the files/stats etc, but crashes when I try to scroll down my uploads. It doesn't even have to think for a while before it crashes, the program just closes. I have Mac Os Tiger 10.4.11, Intel Core 2 Duo 2.16GHz, 1GB ram. Hope this helps.

*ETA - it did it the first 10 or so times, now it seems to be fine.

*ETA - doh, just crashed again, while scrolling again (using touch pad on laptop)

Thanks for making this program! Can't wait to see the developments. This will be a fantastic program for us Mac folks!

Hi Franky,

Sorry for a "late" answer on a "quick" question...
But on Tiger, I only see the words "Your profile" and "Connection" and NO icons.

DL'd it onto my 24" imac 3.06GHz, 4GB - works like a charm. Sync'd my entire portfolio, checke the individual files, fetched updates, tried sending update and it worked (changed the title of one file).

No issues at all.
