Thanks for your answer. I'll do some further testing on the KLM keyword on some new files. The empty caption for Editorial files, could that also be caused by a format error? For instance if you entered one space too many between the words?

No, that sounds unlikely... only "special characters, like é, ü and the like.

I did some initial testing and DeepMeta seems to work fine in OXS 10.7 Lion. Will do some further testing before making the full switch.

Thanks for reporting.

My own testing with Lion was not so successful however. DeepMeta hung on me when fetching all data from iStock when starting with a fresh install...

I'll do further tests as well and will report when I find out more.

/Alright, so something weird just happened.

DM couldn't upload image, error message was: "ERROR : ((empty?)invalid username / password)" (same as reported above) - initial and 3 retry attempts failed.

However image appeared to be uploaded when I look at my uploads on IStock.

I restarted DM and saw 5 images in my library - 1 for each attempt I assume plus one that's actually has to be uploaded. Three out of five don't have thumbnail; they just have big red question marks. One image has thumbnail with IS watermark on top of it and the last one has thumbnail but no watermark.

Lastly, I nominated image to Vetta, but nomination does not show when I look at the IS interface.

Previous uploads show nominations correctly

I'm using DM version 1.5.2

ETA: Counter of my uploads went up with every retry attempt. It's not a big deal for me; I rarely use 10% of my limits but for some people it might be bad news

Same problem here (OSX 10.6.8 Deepmeta 1.5.2). Uploaded an editorial image. Received an error message: Invalid response from iStockphoto (empty (invalid username/password?)) The image is however uploaded to the server, but without the description, caption and keywords.

Same problem here (OSX 10.6.8 Deepmeta 1.5.2) Tried direct uploads with FF and Safari and no loving there either. Almost looks like a Denial of Service taking place, maybe iStock is committing digital suicide

Or maybe there's just a glitch that's causing a few upload issues?

Either way, HQ are aware that some people are experiencing difficulties when uploading and we hope to have a fix soon.

Thanks for chiming in.

Yes there is some general server wonkyness going on at the moment.

You can cancel these unfinished uploads at your Upload page here at the site. Then you get your slots back.

ETA: I've just received confirmation from iStock that they are looking into the problem asap.

As reported in the topic linked by Kelvin: iStockphoto Uploads are now enabled again. Hopefully the fix also sorts out any other server weirdness that wad going on.

Please report if you still have problems. Thanks

New release
I'm happy to report that DeepMeta v1.5.3 for Mac OSX is out.

There are many changes under the hood, but the most important one is support for Mac OSX Lion (v10.7).

Tip from Franky: Oh, and if you want to disable the new "natural" scrolling feature in Lion, you can easily do so in OSX "Preferences", "Trackpad" settings. If you don't know what "natural scrolling" is, you'll soon find out after upgrading to Lion, and it's bound to drive you mad IMHO Apple goofed up big-time here. A bit like when they took away the "Orientation Lock" button in iOS for the iPad, until it drove everyone mad and Apple had to reintroduce it.

Lion IN, Tiger OUT
Unfortunately, in order to support OSX Lion, I had to drop support for OSX Tiger. This was not my choice but is a result of the libraries I'm using. You can't win'em all, I guess.

You can find a detailed list of the changes in this release on the Version history page.

Local database
If you're already using a recent version of DeepMeta (v1.5, v1.5.1 or v1.5.2), then you can just upgrade and your local data (prepared changes and uploads) will remain intact.

If you still happen to use an even older version of DeepMeta (v1.4.X or older), then you will start with an empty database after upgrading to v1.5.3. Therefore, it's best to first send changes and uploads to iStockphoto before upgrading.

This is great Franky! I was waiting for Deepmeta to update to Lion completely, but the wait wasn't long at all. Thank you!

EDIT: found an error. 'Send Updates' gives an error message (Object reference not set to an instance of an object) and forces the program to quit.

Ah, thanks for reporting. I've released a fix in DeepMeta v1.5.4.

Let me know if any other problems pop up. Thansk!

Came here to ask you when we should expect the new DM version for Lion, only to find that it's already available! smile  Thank you!

Oh, BTW I liked the "natural scrolling". I took me about one day to get used to it (I use Magic Trackpad, maybe that helps). But then when I took my Wacom tablet (still scrolls the "old way") I realized my brain's gonna turn upside down.
