OK, iStock API looks back to normal!

Update Sep 7, 9:30 AM MST: iStock reports there are no plans to shut down the API for now. Happy uploading!

I love DM but have one small problem. Beeing a little absent-minded I sometimes shut down the program before I have clicked all the OK. It especially happens when I have clicked OK for keywords and forget the OK for the total. I would be so happy to get a warning if I am on the point of shutting down something that is not saved.

That makes sense. Thanks for the suggestion, I'll put it on the list.

What are your future plans? I would love to get the function to mark certain files and see the total royalties. Thanks!

I am linking some files within each other by DM but it seems like it doesn't work. I don't see the change on the file page at IS. Is there any problem regarding this? Thank you.

Same problem here. In my experience, sending the update twice usually does the trick. But it's still annoying.

I have reported this to iStock. Thanks for all the feedback reports!

Franky - I'm getting 4002 error - invalid sign in when I try to put key words in. It is also not reading keyword that are already in file info when you click on keywpords,. I switched to Firefox, and it indicates no keywords, and yet they are in the file information. It wouldn't let me copy and paste.

Just reporting that this turned out to be out of date credentials. We worked it out by sitemail.

I have a file that shows in the left column on the Istockphoto (or queue) page and when I click on it to move it to the right column, it highlights for about a second then de-selects itself and the move aroow grays out, if that makes sense. I had just uploaded 65 new files into the program, 64 of which had full metadata attached. After I had moved these 64 from the left column to the right I realized that I hadn't completed the MD on the last file. I completed the data entry and that is when I discovered the problem. This is the first time I have ever filled my UL limit, so the system may just be in shock Should I just delete the file and re-upload it?

Hi I don't know if it's just me, but it seems like the site is one action behind on every DM update I do. It took a few batches of updating files to figure out it was happening, but now that I've realized it I can reproduce the effect consistently. For example, if I add the word "test" to the description of one of my files and then F6 to send the update to istock, I don't see any effect on the file on the site, no matter how many times I refresh the page or restart the browser (Safari). But after I go back and delete the word "test" from the file in DM and F6 it, the word "test" will now show up on that file's istock page. Not really a big deal except that I did a find-and-replace action that ended up with a bunch of duplicate lightbox links, but the duplicates didn't actually show up on istock til I "fixed" themin DM. Hopefully it will sort itself out, but just curious if anyone else noticed it happening. Thanks Franky!

Not sure what happened but this morning I restarted DM and the file went into the queue just like it was supposed to.

Yes, this has been happening since iStock updated the site for credit card support, a few weeks ago. See my post below. Thanks for reporting.

OK, thanks for all the reports and research!

I have reported the following 2 issues to iStock:

1. Download counts and royalties of credit card downloads do not show up in the API data (and hence not in DeepMeta).

2. Updates of Image info to the API only show up on the iStock site image page when sending the update twice in a row. When only sending the update once, the API does seem to register the update (a fetch back shows correct data), but doesn't seem to trigger a site page update.

Just a quick update that iStock are still looking into this and I've not received any news that these issues are fixed. Hopefully soon.

Sorry didn't see that when I scrolled through recent posts. Comforting to know it's not just me. Not quite sure how to tackle sending an update twice for a messy batch of files (a find-and-replace function went kind of wrong) but at least now I know there's a workaround! Thanks for the speedy reply Franky, as always.
