Got the recent April 27, 2009 issue of Time magazine in the mail on Saturday.  On the cover is robertlamphoto's money jar photo.

This article in the 'Photo Business News & Forum' about this Time front cover, points the finger at iStockphoto in the usual way, complete with the normal major inaccuracy or two.  Many of the comments are even worse than the article itself.


The article's main claim is that by getting the image from iStock, Time Magazine got their cover photo at a 99% discount of their usual (guessed) price.

Hope I'm not the only one who finds it ironic that this publisher has illustrated his commercial blog with what is evidently a scanned copy of the picture in Time magazine.


Nevermind it's a hot-link to an iStock location. If he is so concerned with photographers getting paid for their work, the very least he could do is buy a copy of the picture in question from iStock and post it legitimately on his blog.
