A fix was pushed today, and while not complete, should be an improvement. Please report experiences using the web upload regarding the reading of keywords, titles and descriptions.

Here's the important thing to keep in mind, while metadata should now be read during upload again (yay!) you need to finish the upload process in 24 hours or you will have to enter it all back in manually after that. So, don't delay. Act now!

Metadata is missing on my photos. And even old "fix" with going to forum first and then returning to editing images not working any more

Got it. Metadata was read for me when I did a test upload. What browser/OS are you using?

Just checked back on an upload within 24 hours and all the metadata and keywords were gone.  It appears that you have to do everything simultaneously now.

Yeah, it seems to be less than 24 hours. Best to just get the basics finished after uploading. You can always go back and edit later.

This is a schlep... I cannot for the life of me figure out why on earth this 24-hour (or less) limitation is good for anybody?

Could anybody that knows please explain to me the value of it?

Metadata is read at time of upload and is held for up to 24 hours. If the upload isn't finished in that time frame it is lost from memory and not read again. If you are uploading files with embedded metadata it is in your best interests to complete the process in the 24 hours time frame. If that is not possible then I would suggest using one of the alternative upload methods such as DeepMeta or ImageManager.

I am sorry but this is not an acceptable answer with all respect, reading the metadata when it is actually needed is far more efficient than storing it in memory for 24 hours. The upload as it was worked although with some workaround, this new method is not working at all.

thanks for the warning!

24 hrs??? really nonsense. now i have used/wasted upload space, and my time. all for what? to spend time uploading the same images again.

with all due respect sylvanworks, this is a real time waster.

is there not a way Contributor Relations could communicate this sudden change to contributors and give us a little notice on this? it would in the long run save people a lot of work, both from the contributor's side and Contributor Relations.

that is great that it has been posted since it went live, but in all fairness, i don't check out the forums evertime i want to do some work. it would be my suggestion that perhaps they could simply send out a mass email to everyone for updates and changes etc. this would save a lot of time wasted from both sides. this is after all the communication business.
