Posted Wed Feb 13 4:56PM | do you guys know how to explain what an SSD drive even does? All I know is it makes the computer go faster. I got mine when my boy was building a new computer that needed to keep up with gaming. We got him one (plus similar HD & memory as mine) and it was so cheap I went ahead with one too. |

traditional HD's had spinning disks that were magnically written to, SSD drives are just silicon chips that retain info, no moving parts, quicker info access

Posted Wed Feb 13 5:41PM | thanks Dieter! and thanks Alex too. I'm not sure if I'll get to it for a few days still but I now have yours & Chris's posts bookmarked so I don't have to ask again! |

awesome, thanks Chris! nice to meet you We have another Chris in the group - amesy. He lives in France.
If nobody pointed you to my posts about what and we discuss in here and why, check out posts from me on PP 1968 & 1970 - just switch the page number in URL. I really need to work on changing out our OP.
Thank you, nice to meet all of you, I did read 1/16 of page 1968 and 1970 and did get the point so I would like to state that I am in the state of euphoria for some reason and really freaking happy now (probably because there is so much love in the air due to tomorrow), might add that I am just enjoying the great semi-sweet wine from Georgia not US Georgia but the actual country Georgia and it is so awesome that seriously I probably will open second bottle, highly recommended, it is more on the dry then sweet side with a delicate dry finish and the name is "KINDZMARAULI" royal collection, really cheap for what it is offering for the taste buds. I wish you all a Happy Valentine's Day, a lot of love and passion and from my experiences it doesn't have to be mutual as long as it does have a place in our heart and still exists completing us by defining that we are indeed a worthy species for this planet. Damn, I love that wine |
Posted Wed Feb 13 7:21PM | Wow, sounds like really good wine. But I am not sure I want to be around you when you have been drinking it. |

Wow Chris that wine sounds powerful
Good luck with the SSD Dawn. |
Posted Wed Feb 13 8:25PM | Sounds like a good wine. Have not had that but was once struck 22 hours on the airport in Tiblisi, Georgia when the pilot of our plane was taken sick during the flight and we had to wait for a replacement to be flown in. The waiting area was very cold and semidark and there was no food on sale (aircompany finally mananged to organize some sandwiches from the city). Not much on sale in the taxfree shop but my husband and I managed to get two bottles of "Chanpangne" that was also rather sweet but kept us warm and happy during the wait. |
Posted Wed Feb 13 8:44PM | Part of me wants to do a search for that wine because it sounds good. The other part of me is saying "Stay away, stay freaking far away!" |

Posted Thu Feb 14 7:54AM | Happy Valentines Day! My littlest boy folded 24 origami hearts that somehow end up having a little paper collar and necktie folded into them! These are for his class. He spent days pondering the perfect necktie Valentine pun to add to them and came up with "Happy ValenTIEns Day!" which I think is awesome! I bought my family a sweet love painting from a local artist, but shhh! They don't know yet! Celebrate the love today, it's here for all of us! |
Posted Thu Feb 14 8:32AM | Parker, your little boy is the face of istock for Valentine's Day on facebook - one with him wearing a bowtie and holding a heart with 'I love you' on it. |
Posted Thu Feb 14 8:53AM | Enjoy, Rye! Sounds like fun times. I just installed some more ram in my circa 2009 MBP, and it's been humming along at a clip never seen before (max on that machine is 8, so I can only dream of 16, SSD, etc. etc. etc.) Some day... |
