susandaniels Posted Thu Jan 17 7:25AM	when the crown is dropped non exclusive files are then opted in to Thinkstock i think. There is no easy solution, we are had all ways unless we leave and close our ports. I bet there will still be our files on Getty sites elsewhere for a while
nkbimages Posted Thu Jan 17 8:32AM	^Yes. I do not want any of my images on Thinkstock. If I drop my crown I will close my port. I have seen people complaining online about closing their ports and still having images on Getty and Thinkstock (and of course not getting paid for their sales). So I want to wait until my E+ are unlocked and moved back to istock. I might just quit stock. As an indie there is no real way to control misuse of files and I don't know that I would make enough for it to be worth my time.

jonathansloane Posted Thu Jan 17 12:22PM	Views are now only counted if a user is logged in. A casual browser who just opens and looks at your files without logging in will not be counted. There has been some controversy over this since TPTB have said that they have not changed the way views were counted in years. If this is indeed the case, nobody is buying my files because noone is looking at them!
lucop Posted Thu Jan 17 12:57PM	I moved all my E+ to the E collection ... I'm very sad. I have more than 20 of my images at Getty and I would like to remove them from there asap. I will send a request to istock for this to happen soon.

They don't have to transfer them they just have to delete them from Getty. They are hiding behind incompetence. It probably will be very difficult to get any back payments for the files once they are off as well.

That doesn't bode well for me as I'm not exclusive so my files have even less exposure than yours -.-

I have asked to remove them from Getty and the answer from contributor relations was to ask me for the Getty numbers. So I guess they have at least a manual procedure to remove the files. I will let you know when my files are removed. I'm also thinking in drop the crown but only if my images don't end in other partner places. If that would be the case, I can't see any other alternative than leaving istock. And I don't want to wait with the crown until somebody find my images for free somewhere in the near future. I'm wondering what the big contributors here are thinking! both exclusives or independents (Yuri Arcurs for example) ETA: Yuri is not anymore at istockphoto, use another example please (Edited on 2013-01-17 19:43:06 by lucop)

Dakandikid Posted Fri Jan 18 11:50AM	Susan, it's just the audio from the camera's internal mic. In this instance there is no other sound interference. I shot a video with someone talking where there was traffic and people talking and it picks up a lot of ambient sound including wind. I was thinking that on a future test shoot where I plan to have dialogue, I might try to use the MP3 tape recorder I have and see if that limits all that extra noise. If you are looking for superior audio either a shotgun, or directional mic is probably what you're looking for. There are so many out there and the prices vary. Maybe you have a local shop where you can test out the mics? Also have to make sure that it is compatible with your camera inputs.
