I had two GI sales, I do not have any vetta only E+. Here is one of them and both were from the same series

Posted Sat Jan 26 4:43AM | Ooh Guntars that is nastier than my eye infection shot. My EL was the CPAP man, maybe someone is doing medical journals or something. That also shows I was wrong about E+ not getting much exposure. |
Posted Sat Jan 26 5:03AM | does anyone know what % royalty we get for GI sales? |
 Posted Sat Jan 26 5:35AM | ^20% |
  Posted Sat Jan 26 5:42AM | thanks, guntars |
Posted Sun Jan 27 5:24PM | I ended up getting 3 GI sales. One was a November sale for $1.10 (which it sounds like many people got) and the other two were actually the same file getting two sales (one for $17 and one for $51). Assuming that this wasn't a fluke month for me, I'm really going to like these royalties coming in each month - especially if I can get better stuff over there!!
I hope everyone had a good weekend - and hopefully everyone has a week full of downloads!!! |

Good to see some of the crowd getting Getty love. Nice to have a couple of good ones in there Rob!

Posted Tue Jan 29 12:42AM | Gee we have gone quiet again ... a bit like my dls lol! |
Posted Tue Jan 29 1:07AM | Hi Wendy! Yep it is quiet. I'm a bit demotivated by all the hassle of the last 2 years and the recent Google Drive debacle. I haven't been uploading anything this month because for me new image just disappear in the BM void. I'm waiting till the BM is tweaked and give some preference to newer images. |

Same here... stopped uploading lmost 3 weeks ago. I'm still shooting though, so hopefully there will be a time that I feel I can upload those images without them being wasted. But it seems that the last BM adjustment is giving me even worse results. |
Posted Tue Jan 29 4:36AM | I uploaded 7 editorials yesterday, and they were in queue within an hour - all 7 were accepted within the next 2 hours. No chance they'll get buried since there's only one other image with the main keywords. Last night I uploaded 2 more in the series and both were accepted by morning. |
Posted Tue Jan 29 4:36AM | I am glad its not just me ... sad isnt it |
     Posted Tue Jan 29 5:39AM |
Yesterday I started uploading again, I couldn't help myself. I'm hoping they don't get lost. Already woke up to several acceptances. I am only putting up old files. New files I will now wait until I have the copyrights registered. Here's a gem I found forgotten on my harddrive from the Utah Virginlypse in 2010:

Posted Tue Jan 29 4:23PM | Lorraine that is a gorgeous shot. INteresting that inspections are that quick, the Q must be realtively small at the moment. Registering copyright would not save you in the Getty deal because Google bought the rights to do what they are doing. Short term gain for long term loss. A very short sighted busiiness model. |
Posted Tue Jan 29 11:36PM | We don't know what Google or Getty are planning on doing with the images because they haven't told us but it could be something good, I'm playing Polly-Anna here but we are only thinking of the bad things this has/couls cause and havn't stopped to think about what good possibilities this could bring in the future. Google is in the business of making money not giving it away, who knows what they have up their sleeve. |
  Posted Wed Jan 30 2:13AM | True Monique ... |
Posted Wed Jan 30 3:33AM | Google is not giving away those images for free, they are buying users with them ... Google is really advertising company, the more users it has the more it can earn buy selling advertising. I do not think that there are any bigger plans for the images sold. I think from the point of view of getty it's just a sale |
Posted Wed Jan 30 7:01AM | Wendy my plan for getting all my photos copyrighted prior to uploading is just because I think it is important to protect my work. It's good pratice and I need to make it part of my workflow. |
Posted Wed Jan 30 3:04PM | Ah ok Lorraine that makes sense. We dont have to do that out here. My images are automatically protected which is why I keep all my original RAW files. |

Yeah same here. I don't think you could actually register copyright here at all. You can get an official organisation put a date stamp on your work, but that's about it. Thankfully... having to register everything would cost so much time better spent on creating new things! |
