Posted Mon Jul 20, 2009 12:25PM | Since the switch to the new servers, my uploads are taking literally hours to get up. I usually use DeepMeta (Win) but have tried the web based method with the same result - time-outs or my patience runs out first (after around 15 minutes). I see from the forums that another member is having the same problem using DeepMeta (Mac) but would expect it to be a bit more widespread than that. Any ideas? |

Hi Gary,
I have just uploaded a couple of files with no problems via DeepMeta so I don't know what your problem might be.
Best of Luck

Thanks Trevor - I have it on 2 different laptops (same wireless internet connection) - I just can't figure out what's changed locally. I shall keep trying
Each large file (2.49Mb) is taking around 20 mins to upload!

     Posted Mon Jul 20, 2009 1:14PM | I have the same problem too. |
Posted Mon Jul 20, 2009 1:35PM | I played with my wireless router settings (after a reboot) and it's resolved the problem. Try pinging istockphoto.com to check the respoonse speed - mine was under 50ms and that was the problem - for me anyway. Hope this info helps others. |
Posted Mon Jul 20, 2009 2:37PM | tirc83, sorry but i don't clearly understand what you mean (how "to try pinging" )
Why it didn't happend before? |
    Posted Mon Jul 20, 2009 2:46PM | I have 267 ms... What does it mean? |

If you're running XP go to start -> Run and type ping istockphoto.com
If you're running Vista - go to Start -> Search and type ping istockphoto.com
Look at the numbers that come up - that gives the response times (bigger the number faster the connection)
Sometimes my wireless router likes a specific address in the TCP/IP setting and other times it likes to auto-detect. I don't know why this happens - I just live with it

Hi Gary,
If it is of any help I find that it helps if I switch the router off every now and then and restart it. The connection seems to speed-up after that.
Also speed will fluctuate at different times of the day depending on how many people on your telephone exchange are on the internet at that time of day and how many people are using the same page on istock.

I've been having upload problems via the web for the last couple of days now. Only about 1 in 20 attempts (if that) seems to work. I've changed nothing at my end so any word from up high on what's happened?
Cheers, Simon

Posted Thu Jul 23, 2009 11:33AM | I am still having the problem of metadata missing on uploads. I just tried uploading two photos, one worked great, one was missing the data. I thought this was fixed. |
