Nice going on the fix today, you folks sorted that quick. Well done Rob for sorting out the forum fallout, would not like that job.

My bestseller vanished away from the first places with "spa" search. And it just cant be found at all! This is the pic with 2800 sales. What is going on?

I think there is still an issue.  I added some photo files to a private lightbox this afternoon and the images are not showing up.  I have logged out, deleted cache, cookies etc and the images are not showing in the light boxes.  Chrome Windows XP updated.

Could I just - respectfully - disagree... I love iStock, and think it's an excellently run site, but the search was intermittently down/completely down for over three hours.  I don't know the exact timing because the thread where it was originally reported has gone (with good reason).


Within the space of seven days we had two major outages, in both cases with many exasperated customers asking for help, and no official word until Rob came online to calm and reassure everyone.  Both times the buyer comments got to the point where URLs for other stock sites were being shared.


Though my sales personal took a knock, I'm less worried about this blip, and more worried about the impact to the hard-earned reputation of the site as the place to get stock.  For every despairing customer who did post in the forums, there must have been many who didn't.


It seems possible that the search problems came after a site change, BM or otherwise.  If that is the case, please could engineers stick around to check if changes have had an impact on the site, and be ready to resolve problems.


Again, I really don't want to sound negative about such a great site and business, I just think that now that iStock is so well recognised and used worldwide, these kind of problems need to be avoided at all costs, and zapped really swiftly if they do occur.

I completely agree with resonants. These consistant search problems must be losing us customers. If the recent outages have been due to site changes then wouldn't the weekend be a better time to implement?

This past search problem was not caused by a site change. Just a plain old fail.

I see those files, so not sure why they were missing for you, but they seemed to have returned.

As the original poster of that thread, can I ask why the thread disappeared?  After my posting, I left and bookmarked it so I could quickly find out the status when I got back on, without having to pore through forum posts, but it was totally gone. 

Because there were so many threads created on the same issue that it was out of control (this whole forum was a sea of locks and redundant threads) and then the problem was fixed, so there was no need to make people read sort through all threads to find an answer. I created this one and removed all the rest. Some people also posted links to other sites in there, but hey, it's the Internet it happens.

Is there a way to delete individual photos from a lighbox? I cannot find an answer though I have searched the site for one.
