Step 1. The Skinny
iStock members are part of an international community of artists creating a huge database of royalty-free content.
To become part of this exciting community, all you need is some creativity, a good artistic sense, and a desire to share your work with other iStockphoto members.
iStock accepts high quality jpg photos, Flash, vector illustrations, and video. Content is purchased with iStock credits and the credit value of every file is determined by the file quality and size (For example, the pixel dimensions of a digital photograph).
Artists earn a royalty on every credit used to download their file. iStock Exclusive artists and artists with more downloadable content earn higher royalties.

Start creating. Shoot, draw, code and record your artistic vision.

Step 3. Upload & Apply
Convert your files to the required format and create your free iStockphoto.com membership. Be sure to read our helpful training manual to ensure your files are the correct format and acceptable quality.
Upload your files (use the Upload link in the left navigation bar) to iStockphoto.com where our experienced and helpful inspection team will review and activate your application and submitted files. Every file is checked for copyright, model release requirements and overall quality.

Step 4. Earn
Other iStockphoto members can now view, download, and use your files - royalty free.
You earn money for every credit used to download your images, and you can use your earnings to buy iStock credits for your own designs. You can also request a pay-out cheque if your earnings are $100 or more (minimum request amount).
