Extended License Handbook for Clients

Extended Licenses

iStockphoto's Extended License options allow you greater usage freedom with the images you download. We've simplified these options, giving you the freedom you need for any project with an easier to use pricing structure.

Select the Extended License Options from the menu at the top of the File Download page, above the standard Content License Agreement. Select the options you need from the menu to amend the standard Content License Agreement. Then review the provisions, check “I Agree” and download the file.

What’s New

  • A fixed, flat-rate system that's easier to use. It's the best value for the greatest freedom over how you use your image.
  • Straight-forward availability. More of our contributors are opting in their portfolios for extended license availability, making it easier for you to get the image you need. You can search specifically for images opted-in to the Extended License program from your Advanced Search page. And you can always contact Client Relations if the image you want isn't opted into the Extended License Program, and we'll try to help.

1. Reproduction / Print Run Limits

The Standard License Agreement limits the amount of times you may print the Content to 500,000 reproductions. By purchasing this extension, you can make an unlimited number of reproductions.



2. Multi-Seat Licenses

This option allows you to extend usage of the Content to more than one person within your organization.



3. Items for Resale - Limited Run

You may purchase Extended Licenses allowing uses of the Content in items for resale, license, or other distribution, including:

  1. up to 100,000 cards, stationery items, stickers, or paper products,
  2. up to 10,000 posters, calendars, mugs, or mousepads,
  3. or up to 2,000 t-shirts, apparel items, games, toys, entertainment goods, or framed artwork.


4. Electronic Items for Resale - Unlimited Run

You may also purchase the option to resell the Content in an unlimited number of electronic templates for e-greeting or similar cards, electronic templates for web or applications development, PowerPoint or Keynote templates, screensavers, and email or brochure templates.
