Description

This is a large Tudor-style cottage in the heart of the Surrey Hills in southern England. Parts of it do, in fact, date back to the 16th century, while later additions have been made. To the original Tudor building, mock Tudor additions have been made.

Tudor architecture was much admired and copied by architects in the time of Queen Victoria, and there are many examples of 'mock Tudor' scattered throughout the Surrey Hills. Mock Tudor buildings are usually half-timbered, so that the wooden portions are not part of the supporting structure.
