'On hwy 6 out side of Thompson Manitoba this sign appeared. The 55th Parallel North is a circle of Latitude that is 55 degrees north of the Earth`s equatorial plane. The Mid-Canada Line, an Air Defence Early Warning Line stretching across Canada's 55th parallel of latitude from Labrador to British Columbia, became operational in January 1958.'
