'Rome, Italy - July 21, 2012. The Altare della Patria, also known as the Vittorio Emanuele Monument, also known as the Wedding Cake stands at the foot of a busy traffic circle in downtown Rome. Pedestrians walk past it, while a few of them stop to take photos. This is one of the newer buildings in Rome, finished in 1925, and is often considered a pompous landmark for its intrusion on the otherwise ancient ruins of downtown Rome.'
