Verona, Italy - October 23, 2012: Two girls are taking pictures inside the Arena, while other tourists are visiting the interior of the Roman amphitheatre, the symbol of Verona. Built in the first century AD, the Arena still shows the outer structure with double arches and the interior with impressive concentric circles of terraces descending towards the center.

The Arena is one of the best preserved ancient structures of its kind in the world.
In the past, it drew spectators from many places, often far away, to attend to public games, called Ludi. Now it is still used for many events: with seating for 25,000 spectators, as centuries ago, it welcomes visitors from every angle of the globe during the summer presentations of opera performances.
