ISTRIA, CROATIA - October 25, 2011: a B.A.S.E. jumper descents under parachute canopy after jumping off a bridge. Bridge jumping is a popular BASE jumping discipline, widely spread in this sport. BASE jumping (or B.A.S.E jumping) is an activity that employs an initially packed parachute to jump from fixed objects. "BASE" is an acronym that stands for four categories of fixed objects from which one can jump: buildings, antennas, spans (bridges), and earth (cliffs).
