Grevenmacher, Luxembourg - March 9, 2014: Grevenmacher is a town in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg as well as the administrative center of the canton of the same name. Grevenmacher is the largest town on the 'Luxembourg Wine Route'. On the bank of the Moselle are leisure facilities, esplanades, boat docks and a lock. Built in the course of the Moselle canalization barrage Grevenmacher discharged approximately 10,000 vessels a year. A further object is to regulate the Mosel level. In addition to cargo vessels operate passenger ships between the touristy wine villages and small towns of the middle and lower Mosel. The barge 'Cygnus' from Lemmer, The Netherlands leaves the lock Grevenmacher, Luxembourg and the Moselle driving upstream to France.
