Sedona, Arizona, USA - June 22, 2013: The sideview mirror on the drop handlebar of a cyclocross bicycle reflects a red rock desert landscape under a beautiful blue sky and clouds. The mirror is slightly convex - similar to that of the sideview mirror on the passenger side of a car - so that the field of view is increased but without compromising the ability to easily see oncoming traffic approaching the bicyclist from the rear. The drop handlebar provides multiple hand positions for the rider, depending on conditions - cruising, climbing, downhill, etc. The combination front disc brake lever and paddle-style derailleur gear lever are housed in black rubber on the topside of the handlebar. The entire bar is wrapped in cushioning tape to reduce the vibration that can numb hands and wrists. A cyclocross bicycle is designed primarily for smooth road surfaces, but capable of riding on gravel roads and dirt/grass surfaces without issue.
