Genesse, Colorado, U.S.A. - March 3, 2008: At the top of Genesse Hill, a relaxing bison ignores bumper to bumper Interstate-70 traffic driving towards Colorado\'s snow covered peaks.
As a large bison relaxes in the snow as cars, trucks, tractor trailers stand in traffic west bound on I-70. Snow covers the edge of the road as well as pine covered mountains. In 1914, Denver acquired bison from the herds in Yellowstone National Park to help maintain the species, then nearing extinction.
