Description

'Medium bristly Annual, occasionally overwintering; stems often rather robust, usually branched. Basal leaves oval to lanceolate, stalked, stalked in a rosette to begin with, wavy margined; stem leaves smaller, the uppermost clasping the stem. Flowers bright blue with a whitish center, 20-25mm, half-nodding and rather star shaped, with spreading pointed lobes and a prominent cone of purple-black stamens.Habitat: Waste Ground, Waysides and Cultivated Land, often in rather dry sunny places. Flowering Season: May-September.Distribution: Central & South France; naturalized in Britain, Holland and France. A garden escape, usually near habitation.Related images:'
