Burghley House the Elizabethan stately home, near Stamford, Lincolnshire. The house stands in a Capability Brown landscaped Park. It was built in the 16th century for Sir William Cecil who was Lord High Treasurer to Queen Elizabeth I. The building is one of the finest examples of English Elizabethan architecture. Because of it’s authenticity is has featured in many films over the years, including The Da Vinci Code, Pride & Prejudice and Elizabeth, The Golden Age.
