Description
The Carfax Tower, at the heart of the town centre, Oxford, England is all that is left of the 13th Century St Martins Church. The facade shown here with the church clock is adorned by two mechanical Roman soldier 'quarter boys', who strike the bells at every 'quarter' of the hour. Fortis est veritas translates from latin to English as ‘Strong is the Truth’.
