Distribution Warehouse, Export, Freight Transportation, Place of Work, Rail Freight
Los Angeles, California, USA - August 23, 2013: Truck container boxes are stacked alongside a global shipping facility at the Port of Los Angeles awaiting their turn to be transported. A large stacker performs the task of storing empties as well as fitting them to big rig truck beds for over-the-road transport, or to rail cars for train transport. Port cranes are used to transfer the containers to ship decks for overseas transport. The activity is handled by freight forwarding and tracking companies such as those represented here - Beacon, Florens, TAL, Evergreen and Dong Fang. These distribution companies coordinate with ocean going shippers and land-based trucking companies to move and track goods such as food and produce, building materials, machinery, trash, mail, agricultural supplies, motor vehicles and much more.
