The remains of this estate on Cumberland Island, Georgia, are those built in the 1880s by Thomas M. Carnegie, brother of steel magnate Andrew Carnegie. He also built pools, a golf course, and 40 smaller buildings to house the 200 servants that worked at the mansion. The mansion burned in 1959 and was never restored.
