Description
The ruins of the Medieval Castle Acre priory in Norfolk, England. The priory dates from c1090 and are one of the finest examples of a Cluniac priory in the country. As was the usual case with such buildings, it was destroyed by order of Henry VIII. Here the ruins are seen from the nave of the priory church.

Some historic buildings from my portfolio. Please see my lightboxes for more.
