Description
The worst nuclear accident in the history was happened in 1986. Chernobyl reactor 4 exploded.
The big chimney(on the front) is original chimney of the reactor.The smaller one is built newly to ventilate the reactor .You can see 'the sarcophagus' at the image. It was build after the accident to protect the world from very high levels of radiactivity.
Becasue of the old sarcophagus is damaged they have made some additions.(You can see this new additions at the right side of the image)
Chernobyl is the old name of the power plant.
The new one is Vladimir Ilyich Lenin Nuclear Power Plant..
The new shelter is being assembled just 600m away from the existing Sarcophagus.When it will finished we can't see the old sarcophagus anymore.
