CHICAGO - APRIL 13: A United Airlines 747 jumbo jet is seen on a taxiway off its runway, right April 13, 2006 at O'Hare International Airport in Chicago, Illinois. Hoping, in part, to eliminate current and future flight delays, $15 billion expansion has begun and is expected to take upwards of seven years to complete. The airport was initially constructed in 1943 as an airplane manufacturing plant, later renamed Orchard Field Airport (thus the ORD on baggage claim tickets) and redeveloped for its first commercial flight in 1955. The airport as we know it today is named after a WWII pilot named Edward 'Butch' O'Hare, who was once awarded the Medal of Honor. (Photo by Tim Boyle)
