Tainan, Taiwan – Feb 29, 2012: Located in Tainan City, Taiwan, Chihkan Tower is one of the prominent heritages of Taiwan. Established in 1653 by the Dutch during the period of their colonization, Chihkan Tower has been classified as one of Taiwan’s Tier-One heritages since 1982 and became a famous travel destination now. Originally named Fort Provintia, meaning “eternity” in Dutch, and later renamed Chihkan Tower (Chihkanlou) in 1945, meaning “Red-topped Tower”, which was designed and built in a classical Chinese style with red tiles and cornices.
