Description
Square black and white image of a digital chest x-ray showing a completely white, abnormal left hemithorax because the left lung is collapsed. The volume loss causes the heart to shift to the left. Common causes of this are inhaled foreign objects eg peanut, obstruction from a lung tumour and mucous plugging in asthma. When the mucous was cleared by physiotherapy here the lung re expanded.
