Handwoven on a traditional backstrap loom, the Huipil, cotton shirt, is the most important Mayan womens clothing item and an important part of Mayan identity. The design varies from village to village. This weaving incorporates a corn design with Quetzal birds. Most huipil designs are found in Guatemala some in southern Mexico.
