Carlisle, UK – July 29, 2011: A Direct Rail Services (DRS) intermodal cargo train with tank containers heads north under the electric wires of the West Coast Main Line at Carlisle in the UK. The freight train is being hauled by a Class 66 diesel-electric locomotive and the tanks have branding for Taste & Smile, GE, Tate & Lyle, Peacock, and TWS. DRS is the only remaining publicly-owned rail freight operating company in the UK.
A colorful intermodal freight (cargo) train departs under a maze of electric wiring. The train is heading away from the camera showing its load of branded tank containers carrying mainly food products. The locomotive is creating a heat haze. There are two tank containers on each flat car.
