John O'Groats, Scotland - June 14, 2010: Dunnet Head Lighthouse marks the most northerly point of the Scottish mainland - being some 2:35 miles North of John O'Groats. Only 6.75 miles across the Pentland Firth lies the nearest point of the Orkney Islands. The Lighthouse at Dunnet Head stands since 1831. Over the Pentland Firth can look across to the Orkney Islands. Nearby villages are Thurso and John o 'Groats.
Dunnet Head is a peninsula in Caithness, on the north coast of Scotland, that includes the most northerly point of the mainland of Great Britain.
