Short to medium, somewhat hairy annual; stem wiry, lined. Leaves 3-pinnate, with lobed segments, hairy beneath. Flowers white, 2mm, the umbels with 2-6 rays, borne opposite the leaves; flowers stalks shorter than the sub-tending bracteoles. Fruit almost linear, 7-10mm, with a slender long beak, hairless; styles erect.
Habitat: Grassy places, Hedge banks and waste ground, at low attitudes.
Flowering Season: May-June.
Distribution: East Europe to Central Asia. Naturalized north to Denmark.

The Species is sometimes cultivated for flavoring and may persist for a short time.
