Description

'Jalama Beach is rich with geologic features, including a fault line. It is often used as teaching site for geology students. This boulder is finely layered sandstone. The black tar is a natural blob from offshore tar seeps, another bit of evidence of faulting in the region's rocks. NOTE: This is not a flat rock, so the sharpness falls off along the top.'
