'New York, NY - September 14, 2012: A ghost bike memorial at the intersection of Elizabeth Street and Houston Street on the Lower East Side of Manhattan serves as a memorial to 25-year old Andrew Morgan who was killed by a truck that cut him off and ran over him on this corner on June 22, 2005. Ghost bike memorials, put up by friends and relatives of victims of fatal cycle accidents are a common sight along Houston Street, one of the busiest and most dangerous streets for cyclists in NYC. Ghost bikes are chained to fences and trees. The City of New York has attempted to remove many of these memorials, against the protests of various cyclists' groups, friends and relatives. In the background, shops and residences can be seen along Elizabeth St.'
