Close up of the iconic Seville landmark, La Giralda, the bell tower of the Cathedral of Seville, at twilight. The third largest church in the world, La Giralda, is an outstanding example of the Gothic and Baroque architectural styles. The tower is 97.5 m, or 320 ft, in height. The tower's first two-thirds is a former minaret from the Almohad period of Seville, the upper third, shown here, is Spanish renaissance architecture. The same architect, Jabir, who built the Giralda also built similar towers in what is now Morocco. Several replicas of the Giralda have been built in the United States
