The famous Globe structure outside the Trump International Hotel and Tower was photographed in late afternoon light facing south-east in Columbus Circle, Manhattan. In the background are office and residential buildings along 59th street and in Upper Midtown Manhattan. The globe was built in 1997 and was said to have been inspired by a historic and much larger globe built for the 1964 World's Fair in Queens, New York City.
