Description
The Harmandir Sahib or Darbar Sahib(Temple of God), also the Golden Temple, is an important Sikh gurdwara located in the city of Amritsar, Punjab, India. Construction was begun by Guru Ram Das, the fourth Sikh Guru (he excavated a tank in 1577 CE which subsequently became known as Amritsar - "Pool of the Nectar of Immortality"), and completed by his successor, Guru Arjan Dev.
