Description

The Grand Saint Bernard pass (2469m) is the most ancient pass of the Western European Alps, between the canton of Valais in Switzerland and Aosta province of Italy. In 1049, Menthon Bernard (St Bernard) opened here a hospice for travelers. The hospice became famous for the use of St. Bernard dogs for rescue operations. View towards the Italian side and the Mont-Blanc massive peaks in early summer.
