Odense, Denmark - April 19, 2014: St. Canute's Cathedral. This is the park-side toward "The Fairy Tale Garden" away from the city center. The statue is the poet Hans Christian Andersen. it is an early day in spring.
St. Knud's Church is Odense city's cathedral and the story goes back more than 900 years ago. The church was built in the Gothic style. King Canute, king of Denmark was killed in 1086 in the church after having sought refuge from an uprising of peasants. The remains of his mortal body lies in a coffin in the crypt of the church.
