The original lodge was built in 1766 by Thomas Bullitt. The modern resort dates from 1888, when J. P. Morgan headed a group of investors to rebuild the lodge. Located in the heart of the Allegheny Mountains, the Homestead offers several natural hot springs, championship golf courses, skiing, hiking, and fishing.
